 The morning assembly on 4th February 2026 was conducted by the Natural Science Department. The assembly began with a prayer. The programme was coordinated by Manya CM. The news was presented by Anagha PK. The Thought of the Day was delivered by Niveditha K on the topic “United by Unique”, highlighting the significance of World Cancer Day. She emphasized that every individual’s journey is different, yet unity and compassion give strength in the fight against cancer. The thought inspired students to show empathy, spread awareness, and support those affected by the disease. The assembly was concluded by the coordinator.

The Thought of the Day was presented by Devika E on the topic “Some Responsibilities”. She highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in society and emphasized how responsible actions contribute to social harmony and development. Her words encouraged students to be more aware of their duties as members of society. The assembly concluded with a sense of motivation and awareness among the students by the coordinator.

Anti-Drug awareness programme

  An   Anti-Drug Awareness Programme   was conducted at   SUM College of Teacher Education   on   27 January 2026   with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Various  experts in the field  visited the college and handled interactive sessions focusing on  drug usage, its ill effects, and the social, physical, and psychological consequences of substance abuse . The sessions were informative and engaging, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the dangers associated with drug addiction. The programme was  chaired by Dr. C. V. Jayashree , Principal, SUM College of Teacher Education. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

 The Republic Day celebration was observed with great pride and patriotism at our institution. The programme began with the flag hoisting by Dr. C. V. Jayasree , followed by the singing of the National Anthem. After the flag hoisting, Dr. C. V. Jayasree delivered the Republic Day message , highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution, democratic values, and the responsibilities of citizens in nation building. The programme formally commenced with a welcome speech by Smriti Sajeevan , who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, teachers, students, and guests. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr. C. V. A one-day Art Education Programme was conducted on 23/01/2026 in the afternoon as part of the Students’ Art and Dream Workshop. The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of music and performing arts. The session was led by the renowned playback singer Mr. Dilip E, who interacted enthusiastically with the students. During the programme, Mr. Dilip E. introduced the students to the fundamental concepts of Raga, Tala, and Laya, explaining their importance in Indian music. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and engaging in musical discussions.
