The International Day Against Drug Abuse was observed on 26/06/2025 with great sincerity and commitment. The programme began with a warm welcome speech by Krishnakumar E.P., the IQAC Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the role of educational institutions in shaping a drug-free society.

An Oath-taking ceremony was led by Dr. C.V. Jayasree, Principal of SUMCTE, where students and faculty members collectively pledged to stand against drug use and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Principal also addressed the gathering, delivering a thoughtful speech that highlighted the psychological, physical, and social impacts of drug abuse, urging everyone to remain vigilant and proactive in the fight against this global issue.

As part of the event, Diljit E.P., the NSS Unit Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants and organizers who contributed to the success of the programme.

In addition to the day's theme, a certificate was awarded to the first prize winner of the Intercollegiate Photography Competition held in connection with World Environment Day, marking the event as a celebration of awareness and talent.
