HUMAN RIGHTS DAY



The Human Rights Day celebration held on 10/12/2025 was jointly organized by the NSS Unit and the Social Science Department of the college. The programme began with an engaging welcome speech by Sri. Suneesh Kolangaroth (Assistant Professor in Philosophy) who underscored the relevance of Human Rights Day in promoting justice, equality, and human dignity. This was followed by a thoughtful felicitation by Dr. Jayasree C V (Principal, SUMCTE), who emphasized the need for sustained awareness of human rights and the cultivation of democratic values among students.

The core part of the event was an enlightening talk by Adv. Prenil P. P, (Thalassery Court), on “Fundamental Rights under the Indian Constitution and Basic Human Rights.” His session offered deep insights into constitutional protections and the importance of safeguarding human rights in daily life. 


After the talk, a token of appreciation was presented to the resource person in acknowledgment of his valuable contribution.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Diljith E P (NSS Unit Secretary), who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their support in making the programme a success. The celebration effectively highlighted the significance of human rights and inspired students to uphold these principles in society.
