REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION




 The Republic Day celebration was observed with great pride and patriotism at our institution. The programme began with the flag hoisting by Dr. C. V. Jayasree, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. After the flag hoisting, Dr. C. V. Jayasree delivered the Republic Day message, highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution, democratic values, and the responsibilities of citizens in nation building.

The programme formally commenced with a welcome speech by Smriti Sajeevan, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, teachers, students, and guests. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr. C. V. Jayasree, in which she emphasized unity, equality, and the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation. 


The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. A. Sajeevan (NB/SUB), an ex-military personnel, was warmly welcomed and honoured in recognition of his selfless service to the nation. His presence inspired the audience and added dignity to the occasion. The felicitation ceremony was conducted by George Joseph, Hiba, Suneesh Kolangaroth (Assistant Professors, SUMCTE), and Aira (Student Representative), who expressed their respect and gratitude towards the Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

As part of the cultural programmes, patriotic songs were performed by the first and second year students, which filled the atmosphere with national pride and enthusiasm. An online quiz competition and a debate on patriotic and constitutional themes were also conducted, encouraging active participation and awareness among students. At the end of the programme, sweets were distributed to all, adding joy to the celebration. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Adharsh Ashok, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, organisers, and participants for making the celebration meaningful and memorable.

The Republic Day celebration successfully instilled a sense of patriotism, unity, and respect for the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
