The Orientation Programme for the B.Ed. students was organized by SUM College of Teacher Education (SUMCTE) in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 22 July 2026 at the General Hall, SUMCTE.

The programme commenced with the presidential address by Dr. Rosa M. C., Principal, SUMCTE, who welcomed the newly admitted B.Ed. students and highlighted the importance of professional commitment, ethical values, and active participation in teacher education.

The orientation session was led by Prof. Dr. Issac Paul, Principal, Government Brennen College of Teacher Education. In his insightful address, he emphasized the significance of the teaching profession, the expectations from prospective teachers, and the need to develop pedagogical competence, critical thinking, and lifelong learning skills. He also encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunities available during their B.Ed. programme for their personal and professional growth.

The programme concluded with an interactive session in which students clarified their doubts and gained a better understanding of the course and the responsibilities of becoming future educators. The orientation programme proved to be informative, inspiring, and beneficial for all the participants.
