'DRUG-FREE CAMPUS' DECLARATION

The NSS unit of our college successfully conducted the ‘Drug-Free Campus’ Declaration on 25/03/2025, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering a healthy and substance-free environment. The event was marked by insightful discussions, an awareness class, and an official pledge to maintain a campus free from drugs and substance abuse. The event highlighted the crucial role of future educators in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among their students and society at large.  The program commenced with a welcome speech by Suneesh Kolamgaroth, NSS Program Officer, who emphasized the significance of the initiative and the role of students in maintaining a drug-free society. The oath emphasized the commitment to never use drugs, spread awareness, and support anti-drug initiatives. She connected this idea with the life of the legend Charlie Chaplin. She narrated how Chaplin, despite facing extreme hardships in his childhood—losing his father at a young age, his mother suffering from mental illness, and struggling with poverty—transformed his pain into art. His struggles became the light that illuminated his path to greatness, teaching us that our wounds and hardships can shape us into stronger, more compassionate individuals.
